About Me

Tall in stature, but short on words. Low on expectations, but high on optimism. I'm a son, brother, uncle, poet, activist, leader, student and a voice. But at the end of the day, I am simply ME.

This is how it feels to be from the greatest city in the UNIverse! Check out WRBG Radio V. 17 (The Musicology of Mmadu Ulasi II)

With this issue, I was ecstatic from the completion of my first public event, The Eat 2 Live Block Party & Concert. Although it was supposed to go down on September 12th as originally planned, but with everything going wrong from the beginning, I had no choice but to postpone. During that entire week, I was planning how I can rebound from this setback, and have my vision become reality. So the 19th rolls around, and everything went smooth like butter, from beginning to end. There were books for the kids donated from the Brooklyn Borough Prez, Señor Marty Markowitz. And I had A-Live of Green Street and Aquil from Philly come and shut it down for the kids. That day, I saw generations come together, which is something that doesn't really happen that much amongst the urban community these days. I feel that we need to come together like that more often, so look out for another block party coming your way next summer! But with no further ado, I present to you: WRBG Radio V. 17 (The Musicology of Mmadu Ulasi p II)

Here are some pics from the event.

Yo...This dude was getting BUSY on those skates!

Silent Intelligent & A-Live of Green Street

Looks like the kids are having a good time. But I have something up my sleeve of course.

The mayhem begins. Aquil of Illadelphia starts the show off.

Making sure the crowd is with us! Up there with a broken toe on one foot, Jordan on the other. That's how we do it here in Brooklyn.

A-Live getting it in by the bodega.

I got my drink and my two step!

OK, ya'll don't gotta go home, but you gotta get the hell up outta here.

Shouts to slimm on the pics.

Aquil- Blues People (2008)

What's good folks? Here is the first of many mixtape goodies that I have up my sleeve. This one is from an MC by the name of Aquil. Hailing from Philadelphia, PA, Aquil succeeds in showing his brotherly love in his debut mixtape "Blues People." With soulful samples, intricate lyrics and solid production, Aquil shows that he a force to be reckoned with. With tracks that hit close to home for most, such as "For The People" , "Walk On By" and "No Justice, No Peace," Aquil really puts the spotlight on many of the issues that most of us still face in our enviornment, what most would consider the "hood", day in and day out. He also has his demo up on here too, where he just goes on an 86 bar, militant lyrical barrage over "75 Bars (Black's Reconstruction)." Standing out to me as a young Black Thought mixed with a touch of Nas, Aquil stands and delivers in his debut album "Blues People." This one is definitely a must-have! Support good music any way you can folks!

A little somethin' for the sisters...

Silent Intelligent & Sophie
I was surfing the net...And I stumbled upon a blog that caught my attention, simply due to the content and inherent relevance of the issues being discussed. This one is a message to all the sisters out there. Check it out and feel free to discuss this amongst your peers and all that other good stuff. Most sisters need to desperately read this, take a look in the mirror shortie. I'm off like a dirty shirt.

The Blackwoman: Understanding Her Original Self by Queen Aisha Sha-Shom

(Courtesy of Freedom Allah, be sure to check out his blog @ http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendId=7151290)

Peace and Blessings to the Brothers and Sisters seeking knowledge which exists in everything in life. At this time I'll be speaking on the Blackwoman, whom is an important factor. Sisters, your ways and actions are unalike that of your original self. Open your eye; and when I say "eye" I'm speaking upon the mind; for it is the all-seeing of the past, present and future. The Blackwoman wants respect, trust, love, peace and happiness. However, how can your natural companion, the Blackman, manifest these qualities to you if you do not earn them?I understand that the uneducated Blackman acts as bad or worse; however, two savages cannot make things righteous or civilized. During the stage of refinement, you must first civilize yourself. The Blackwoman has forgotten her primal role in life. In society she's the independent, revolutionary woman making her the administrator and provider in the home. The Blackwoman eats the wrong foods, wears savage clothes, fake hair and covers her natural beauty with make-up.Sister, what happened to our natural lifestyles?Well, I'll tell you what happened: it was striped from us during the days of slavery. Our ancestors were forbidden to speak, act, to even seem to think of our culture. If they did, they were severely punished by the devil. Their silence was to be the future punishment of generations to come. The devil has blinded you to your true origin of life. Most sisters would ask: "How has the devil blinded me from the truth?" Well, here's an example directed to the sisters; in the past the devil tormented us more than ever, physically. At the present time, most of our brothers and sisters are oppressed mentally, which is worst of all, not knowing their original self.Back in the days of physical slavery they wouldn't allow our sister to nurture their own babies because they had to breastfeed the devil babies. The devil was convinced that by doing this, they would turn out an elite white person; however, most of the time it was because the devil wife would not take the time to feed her own children. The devils would tell our sisters to feed her own baby with cow milk, because the milk she produced was to be only used for the devil babies. If she was caught nurturing her own child she was punished! Nowadays, you sisters say you love your children, and yet you allow an animal (cow) to nourish your young ones. How could you do this? Knowing that your body produces nourishment for your beautiful Black child. The Blackwoman at present lives out a masculine role in her society. The devil exalts the sister that takes the Blackman's role, in essence, depriving him of his self-worth as a bread-winner and contributor of food, shelter and clothing to his family: his manhood.Knowledge this: the Blackman is the foundation of all things in life, and the devil knows that the only way to destroy our Black Civilization is to strip him from his pride, superior strength, and his manliness. How is this so? The devil is tricky; he switched the cooperative roles of the Blackman and Blackwoman, robbing the man of his manhood. When a man knowledge's his woman living out his role, he feels futile and most uncomfortable.Sisters: Learn your true role in life. The uneducated Blackwoman eats the wrong mental, as well as physical food. Mentally she is miseducated by the devil's false teachings. These teachings exist in school where they teach a devil's version of history. Television (tell-lie-vision) exalts and advertises the most foul things in life; birth control, abortion, pork, nakedness (cultivating our men through physical attraction), the use of "make-up," cheating on your companion? The list could go on and on.Physically, the wrong foods would be: pork, and catfish (see Leviticus, Chapter 11 for a list of poison animal foods). The unhealthy flesh most frequently eaten is pork and catfish. Sisters: why eat something that has no way of purifying itself of the poisons it takes into its system? The catfish has no scales and the pig no pores. The catfish has menstruation cycles just as you and I. Sisters, back in slavery days we were allowed only the worst parts of the pig; the intestines, where the bowel movement passed the excrement; the pigs feet, which has a hole at the bottom of each foot to release pus: or the brains, which, being foul, had to be mixed with eggs to be eatable. It is inexcusable that brothers and sisters are today still indulging in these foul dishes, and worst feeding them to their children. Blackwoman: learn your mental and physical food of life. Original people are natural by nature. Your nature is natural. So, sister, why the additions and subtraction's to your physical composition? The additives consist of "make-up" and "weaves". These are not improvements on natural beauty. They are manifestations of insecurity and a reflection of low self-esteem concerning your natural beauty. Why would you "fry" your hair with chemical straighteners unless you believe straight hair is beautiful and your own, natural, original hair is not? You are the original woman, Mother of Civilization, a Goddess. Be yourself and love yourself. You only subtract from yourself and attract the worst when you wear revealing clothes. How wonderful when the Mother of Creation, by the simple method of wearing refinement, is met with the respect due her by strange men on the strength of her fashion of dress, to be able to walk down the street and not having men disrespecting her, or making lewd or sexual comments. Imagine that. Think about that. So, Sisters: quit complaining about your men not respecting you, or the people you come into contact with having no respect for you. Do you respect yourself? It is the duty of the educated to teach, and the civilized to teach civilization. However, it is up to you, my sister, to listen and learn. So, wake-up Blackwoman. Time waits for no one.PeaceQueen Aisha Sha-Shom AllatThe Foreign Informationist of the 7th Dimension, Texas

Digging in the crates...

OK, I'm not literally digging in crates, but I was looking through my computer, and I stumbled upon some early shows of Real Squared Radio (which became WRBG Radio this year). I went under a different name as well...back then I was known as Abstract Poetic (to pay homage to Q-Tip), but later on decided that I had to create an image of my own by setting myself from the rest. And that is how the name Silent Intelligent came into existence, alongside WRBG Radio. Here is the post in its entirety. It's back from '08, and I was a hip-hop rookie, you'll hear it...but at the same time I'm pretty sure that you will hear the potential. So with that being said, here it is: Real Squared Radio V. 8.
